Obama Administration says health insurance premiums will soar in 2017, Schrader stays silent

Salem, OR — Today, the Obama Administration reported that health insurance premiums will rise by over 20% in Oregon. Double-digit rate hikes are a common occurrence throughout the country in 2017. The report also showed that competition is shrinking. 83 companies have or will exit the market this year. Next year, a mere 15 companies are slated to enter the insurance market.

“Kurt Schrader and Barack Obama were out in public, advocating for Obamacare in 2009. Now that it’s causing yet another massive increase in insurance premiums, nobody seems to want to take responsibility for it,” said Willis. “Kurt Schrader should be held accountable for voting for Obamacare and hurting working people here in the 5th District.”

A native Oregonian, Willis is the Republican candidate for Congress in Oregon’s 5th Congressional District. The general election will be held on November 8, 2016.
