This is it. Ballots will be arriving in mailboxes, and voters will be voting next week. Because of our vote-by-mail system, Oregon has a three-week voting period. Many ballots are returned long before final results are announced on November 6th.
One of the biggest concerns held by voters and citizens today is the lack of government accountability and transparency. Millions of Americans see government as a tool of corporate interests instead of a true representative of the will of the people.
It is incredible to think that we have just 46 days remaining in our campaign. We began this journey in October, 2017. We've been on the campaign trail for 337 days. We've been preparing and working hard but now is when we need you the most.
I have some exciting updates to share. This past week we reached a critical milestone in our fight to protect Detroit Lake. I also attended the Oregon State Fair and received some thoughtful endorsements. Finally, our field signs are starting to go up!
This was an important week on our campaign. We worked to finalize many of our upcoming plans in the campaign. We also have some critical written materials going out. Both of them will be going out for public consumption soon but I wanted you to have the opportunity to read them first.
Agriculture is woven deeply in the fabric of Marion County. Celebrating and advocating for our farming community is very important to me. I am honored to have the support of many local farmers in my campaign.
