Freres Lumber on the Cutting Edge with New Mass Plywood Panel Plant

On Friday, I stopped by Freres Lumber’s new Mass Plywood Panel plant located in the Santiam Canyon between Lyons and Mill City. This state of the art facility which opens this month uses cutting edge technology to create a plywood based panel that is strong enough to be a substitute for steel and concrete in multi-level buildings. Seeing the new facility is a reminder to me of just how innovative Oregonians can be when the government does what it is supposed to do and then gets out of the way. I will always fight to let Oregonians be the creative and innovative people we know they are.
