Agriculture in Our Community

Agriculture is woven deeply in the fabric of Marion County. Celebrating and advocating for our farming community is very important to me. I am honored to have the support of many local farmers in my campaign.

Aumsville Corn Festival

I saw many friendly faces at the Aumsville Corn Festival Parade. Our float was a shared effort of volunteers, working together to support our campaign as well as, Kevin Cameron for Marion County Commissioner, Denyc Boles for State Representative and Jackie Winters for State Senate. Our float was cheered on by many of the onlookers, happy to see a float filled with candidates who advocate for them. It also helped that we handed out over 60 pounds of candy! We have a great team here in Marion County, and I look forward to working with them to move Marion County in the right direction!

Marion County Hazelnuts

I toured the Hazelnut Growers of Oregon facility in north Marion County. They have the most modern Hazelnut processing facility in North America. Hazelnuts are increasingly becoming a primary Oregon export product. With 5% of the world's hazelnuts, coming out of Marion County, Oregon is the 5th largest producer of hazelnuts in the world. This new facility allows the hazelnut farmers in the area to streamline their product at a much more efficient rate for sale. Having this plant in Marion County has and will continue to move our hazelnut industry in Oregon to the next level.

Political Coffee with Jeff Kropf

I have continued to talk to anyone who will listen about the dangers posed by draining Detroit Lake. I recently appeared on Political Coffee with Jeff Kropf on KSLM. I will continue to speak out to protect Marion County.
